I have moved (already back in February) and now officially live with five boys, four cats and a huge, cuddly St Bernard lady in a house with no central heating and even worse plumbing than the one I lived in before (which is quite an accomplishment), but at least there's warm water most of the time. I love the view (fields on all sides, yay!) and the fact that it's a lot farther out in the landscape than even our farm was, while at the same time saving me more than half of my daily commuting. What I don't love is the paper-thin walls. I never had the desire to hear my roommate fuck his girlfriend (who screams, yes) through the mattress, but having to listen to everyone watch football matches and yell "GOAL" or sing victory hymns at 11 pm is definitely worse.
All in all, I'm much happier than I was at home. The only thing I miss, evil as that sounds, is getting my food cooked every day. I've gained several kilos in the last two months, because a) I don't have the epic bicycle journey to the station every day, b) I can cook whatever I like and logically eat more than of what my mom used to concoct, c) I have to finish all my meals because the dog doesn't get the left-overs like our dog did and I don't usually throw food away, and d) I constantly replace meals with chocolate bars because it's faster, cheaper, and tastes better. Obviously, I still haven't learned to cook.
I have also found an occasional (on call) job to do with horses (moving timber the old-fashioned way) and the coolest, nicest boss I've ever had. It's fun and it pays well and it's with horses, so I'm blissful. I only wish my assistance was needed more often.
Uni assignments are still not even remotely done, because procrastination? Does so not require the internet!
Catching up on the f-list is pretty much impossible to do completely, but I promise I'll read as much as I can while also doing the overdue uni stuff.
